Review: Disconnect (2012) **** (4) Excellent character study looks at a group of people who committed their lives through acts over the Internet have damaged. One story is about a couple (Paula Patton, Alexander Skarsgård), who mourns the loss of her children, when they discovered that their identity stolen. Lawyer (Jason Bateman) tries to understand what has happened to his son, who gave him to do something drastic. TV reporter (Andrea Riseborough) uses the Internet unknown actor (Max Thieriot) for their own needs. Former cop (Frank Grillo) finds that his son could have done something morally wrong. DISCONNECT finally bring all these stories together. Theres no doubt that none of these stories are masterpieces, and I think it's fair to say that many of them play exactly as you would expect them to. Normally, the film would be to kill here, but director Henry Alex Rubin and screenwriter Andrew Stern to give a good job to us signs that we are interested in, they will want to know more about not, and it helps the whole picture to wear. I think that this film offers a very good idea of how people have lost touch with reality and sometimes give dangerous situations online, just because they have nothing better to do, or are they for some links that you can not find, looking in their lives. Really really develop the film a good job in explaining all these characters and all of them, so it really does not feel as if you know and understand these people everything they are doing and why. It certainly does not hurt that they had so many excellent performances. Both Bateman and Grillo really stand out as parents, who fear that they let their children down. Thieriot, the waves at the Bates Motel, is also very good in his work. The whole cast really shine here, and it says a lot about his talent, but also a scenario that they are so much to do. Again, I think a lot of people will see the end coming, but it really does not matter, because the emotional connection that you get with the characters. DISCONNECT is certainly a gem of a picture that shows what a great his screenplay, directing and playing to do.
